As a result, service delivery and implementation of projects remains highly constrained. Service delivery and implementation of projects by the Government is implemented at the mercy of leaders with no proper mechanism for citizen to demand, monitor, report and voice out. Agnija is a certified meditation and mindfulness coach, a writer and a youth worker. Originally from Latvia, she keeps travelling all around the world – from Helsinki to Cairo, from Bogota to Tokyo – to continuously search, learn and discover herself within different cultures, customs and religions.

She started her career as a freelance journalist, working for one of the most popular newspapers in Latvia, "Diena" and other print and online media. Back then, she also had her radio show on an internet radio station, as well as she was an editor-in-chief at the local newspaper in Latvia.

Having gained a Master’s degree in Communication Science, she spent three years teaching English in Egypt, Latvia, Morocco, India and China. She became actively involved in global cooperation and international youth organizations, like AEGEE, AIESEC, European Youth Press, Anna Lindh Foundation and FEJS Latvija, which she initiated and co-founded in 2008. The aim of FEJS Latvija is to allow local journalism students and media makers improve their professional skills and connect with each other. She is currently a member of the Middle East and North Africa Committee (menac).

After her life and work experience in Egypt, she started a creative writing career, and wrote her first novel "Three Cups of Egypt". It was published in a web portal for women "Sievietes Pasaule". From 2013 until 2015 she took Creative Writing classes at the Literary Academy in Riga. During this period, she wrote her second novel "Bruno" and several short stories; some of them have been published by internet journal "Satori" and awarded and published by the European Institute of the Mediterranean "A Sea of Words" short story contest.

In the beginning of 2015, she became actively involved in the World Peace Initiative Foundation project Peace Revolution that changed her life and opened her eyes to a happier and healthier being thanks to a daily practice of meditation. Anna is a multimedia journalist covering for US and UK publications. She serves as project coordinator with the European Youth Press’ Orange Magazine, wherein she is involved in mentoring and working with an international team of young journalists and change-makers who want to use the power of storytelling to shed light on important issues.

Her main motivation when heading teams is how to bring out the youth’s voice in the narrative, especially when presenting local and national issues for a global audience.

Among her projects with Orange Magazine include heading an international editorial team for the coverage of annual events such as the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg by the Council of Europe and the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum. In 2015 she was awarded by the International Cooperation Agency of Korea –KOICA- as scholar in a short-time training course for the creation of self-reliant local communities.

During the last 8 years Lina Maria has worked in her country with different international organizations as well as governmental entities on issues related to human development, armed conflict, and inclusive economic development projects as peace-building mechanisms. Her experience as knowledge management specialist was obtained while she was working with the United Nations Development Programme at regional and national level, since where she contributed to develop methodologies, tools and strategies oriented to identify, disseminate and sharing knowledge around developmental and international cooperation areas and stakeholders.

At the present time Lina Maria is working as knowledge management officer at Oxfam International in a regional project of sustainable food systems.
